“谁饮尼罗水，他日必重归。”

2016年1月，习近平主席访问埃及时引用这句当地谚语，表达重访埃及的心情。习近平主席在埃及媒体发表的署名文章中，寄语中埃友谊、中阿友好“像尼罗河水般奔涌向前，助推我们实现民族复兴的伟大梦想”。

今年是中埃建交70周年。5月，习近平主席同埃及总统塞西互致贺电时指出，建交70年来，无论国际和地区形势如何变化，两国始终相互尊重、平等相待、彼此信任、守望相助，中埃关系已经成为发展中国家友好相处、团结协作的典范和中阿、中非集体合作的样板，正朝着构建面向新时代命运共同体的目标阔步前行。
