“在各国前途命运紧密相连的今天，不同文明包容共存、交流互鉴，在推动人类社会现代化进程、繁荣世界文明百花园中具有不可替代的作用。”2023年3月15日，在中国共产党与世界政党高层对话会上，习近平总书记首次提出全球文明倡议，为推动人类文明进步和世界共同发展繁荣提供中国方案。
从在元首外交中以文明为桥促进中外相知，到倡导和推动举办亚洲文明对话大会、中国－中亚峰会等，习近平主席始终身体力行，推动不同文明交流对话。在双多边场合，他多次以“百花园”为喻阐释中国的文明观，为世界文明百花园群芳竞艳贡献力量。
